Foreign Minister Receives Phone Call from Lebanese Prime Minister to Follow Up on Repercussions of the Israeli Aggression
Dr. Badr Abdelatty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Egyptian Expatriates, received a phone call on Friday, March 6, from Nawaf Salam, Prime Minister of the Republic of Lebanon.
The call aimed to follow up on developments on the Lebanese scene and updates on the regional situation amid the current dangerous military escalation in the region and its expanding scope.
Ambassador Tamim Khallaf, the Official Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated that the call comes within the framework of close monitoring of the serious situation facing Lebanon, particularly the severe repercussions resulting from the worsening displacement crisis caused by the Israeli attacks.
During the call, Minister Abdelatty reaffirmed Egypt’s full solidarity with the Lebanese state during this critical time. The Minister stressed Egypt’s categorical rejection of any violation or targeting of Lebanon’s sovereignty, unity, territorial integrity, and the resources of its people.
The spokesperson added that the call included a comprehensive assessment of the current situation. They reviewed ongoing developments in Lebanon in light of the ongoing displacement crisis, the urgent needs of the Lebanese people, and ways to meet them promptly in line with the directives of H.E. President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi in this regard.
In this context, the Foreign Minister reiterated Egypt’s commitment to continue its tireless efforts to support Lebanese state institutions, extend their authority over the entire Lebanese territory, support the efforts of the Lebanese army in this regard and the consolidation of arms under state control, and work to mobilize the necessary support to alleviate the suffering. This occurs alongside amplifying diplomatic efforts to halt the current escalation due to its serious repercussions on the security and stability of Lebanon.
