The Chemicals and Fertilizers Export Council (CEC) announced the successful conclusion of the Hosted Buyers’ Program held alongside Agri Expo Exhibition 2026, which took place from 17 to 19 January 2026. The program was implemented with the support of the Egyptian Exhibitions and Conferences Authority (EECA) and in cooperation with the Egyptian Commercial Service, reflecting a strong model of institutional coordination aimed at supporting Egyptian exports.
The exhibition witnessed distinguished international participation and delivered positive results in enhancing Egyptian exports while opening new horizons for trade and investment cooperation. This achievement aligns with the Council’s ongoing strategy to support Egyptian companies and expand their access to regional and global markets.
International Buyers’ Mission Strengthens Trade Partnerships
Within this framework, the Chemicals and Fertilizers Export Council organized and hosted an international buyers’ mission during the exhibition, bringing together 33 importers from 13 different countries. This initiative played a vital role in maximizing the exhibition’s impact and transforming it into an effective platform for building partnerships and establishing direct business relationships between Egyptian exporters and international buyers.
Strategic Cooperation Driving Export Growth
Mr. Khaled Abou El Makarem, Chairman of the Chemicals and Fertilizers Export Council, emphasized that the level of institutional integration achieved through close cooperation with the Egyptian Exhibitions and Conferences Authority and the Egyptian Commercial Service directly contributed to the successful hosting of 33 international buyers as part of the buyers’ mission held in parallel with Agri Expo.
He highlighted that this cooperation represents a fundamental pillar in enhancing Egyptian exports and opening new markets, noting that the success of the buyers’ mission underscores the Council’s pivotal role in attracting international buyers. Abou El Makarem added that this success builds on the strong relationships the Council has established over recent years through various trade missions and international engagements.
Geographical Diversity Enhances Global Competitiveness
For his part, Mohamed Mageed, Executive Director of the Chemicals and Fertilizers Export Council, stated that the buyers’ mission included importers from a geographically diverse group of countries, including Senegal, Jordan, Tunisia, Iraq, Spain, France, Ghana, Uganda, Angola, Poland, Morocco, Erbil, in addition to other markets.
Mageed explained that despite the buyers’ mission being prepared within a relatively short timeframe, the wide geographical diversity of participants significantly enriched the event. He stressed that this diversity clearly demonstrated the genuine potential of Egyptian products to compete successfully across markets with varying requirements and standards.
B2B Meetings Lead to Promising Agreements
Meanwhile, Yehia El Menshawy, Business Development and International Cooperation Manager at the Council, confirmed that the B2B meetings carefully organized and coordinated between international buyers and exhibiting Egyptian companies resulted in tangible outcomes. These included clear agreements across several sectors, as well as the opening of promising investment opportunities.
El Menshawy highlighted that one of the most notable results was the emergence of a potential investment opportunity between a Polish company and an Egyptian company in the field of agricultural tractor manufacturing. In addition, tangible progress was achieved in the agricultural pesticides sector, along with several preliminary agreements related to agricultural fertilizers of all types and seeds. These outcomes reflect the growing confidence of international partners in the quality, reliability, and competitiveness of Egyptian products.
Agri Expo Transforms from Local Event to International Platform
Commenting on the exhibition’s success, Eng. Mohamed Ghazy, Director of Agri Expo, stated that this year’s edition achieved remarkable results. He emphasized that organizing the international buyers’ mission in coordination with the Chemicals and Fertilizers Export Council played a decisive role in transforming Agri Expo from a primarily local exhibition into a truly international platform.
Ghazy expressed his ambition to build on this success in future editions, revealing plans to increase the number of international buyers to 300 buyers in the next edition. This expansion aims to further strengthen Agri Expo’s position as a leading regional and international platform serving the agricultural sector.
Continued Commitment to Export Expansion
In its concluding statement, the Chemicals and Fertilizers Export Council reaffirmed its firm commitment to supporting Egyptian companies, maximizing the benefits of international exhibitions, and strengthening connections between local producers and global buyers. These efforts align with Egypt’s national objectives to increase exports, enhance trade competitiveness, and promote sustainable economic growth.
