Arab and Islamic Countries Condemn U.S. Ambassador to Israel , Warn of Threat to Regional Stability

Egypt has strongly condemned statements by the United States Ambassador to Israel, Mike Huckabee, in support of ” Israel from the Nile to the Euphrates ” , describing them as a departure from established international principles and a violation of international law.

In a statement issued on Saturday, the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs denounced comments made by Huckabee during an interview with American media personality Tucker Carlson, which was aired on Friday.

According to the Egyptian Foreign Ministry, Huckabee’s statements included references suggesting Israeli sovereignty over occupied Palestinian territories based on religious narratives — positions Cairo said contradict international law, the UN Charter and long-standing international consensus on the Palestinian issue.

Egypt expressed its “strong denunciation and rejection” of the statements, stressing that they represent a serious departure from the principles governing the international system.

The ministry reaffirmed Egypt’s unwavering stance that Israel has no sovereignty over the occupied Palestinian territories or any other Arab land. It underscored its categorical rejection of any attempts to justify territorial claims outside the framework of international legitimacy.

Cairo also reiterated its firm opposition to any efforts to annex the West Bank or separate the Gaza Strip, as well as to the continued expansion of Israeli settlement activities in occupied Palestinian territories.

The statement further expressed Egypt’s surprise that such remarks were made at a time when international efforts are intensifying to secure a ceasefire in Gaza and advance a political process aimed at ending the war and achieving a just and comprehensive settlement of the Palestinian cause.

Egypt reaffirmed its commitment to supporting a comprehensive and lasting peace based on the two-state solution and relevant UN resolutions, ensuring the establishment of an independent Palestinian state along the 4 June 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.

In an interview with Tucker Carlson, the US’s ambassador to Israel said that Israel has a biblical right to take over the entire Middle East, or at least the big share of it.

Carlson asked Huckabee about the implications of a biblical verse often cited by Christian Zionists to justify support for Israel in which God promises Abraham that his descendants will receive land “from the Valley of Egypt to the Great River, the Euphrates.”

He pointed out to Huckabee that this area in modern geography would include basically the entire Middle East.

“The Levant.. Israel, Jordan, Syria, Lebanon… it’d also be big parts of Saudi Arabia and Iraq?” asked Carlson.

Huckabee, a Baptist minister and lifelong Christian Zionist, replied: “I’m not sure it would go that far, but it would be a big piece of land,” adding that “Israel is a land that God gave, through Abraham, to a people that he chose. It was a people, a place and a purpose.”

After Huckabee claimed Israel had a divine right to vast portions of the Middle East, Carlson asked him to clarify, “What land are you talking about?” Interpretations of the biblical phrase “River of Egypt” vary, with some scholars identifying it as a riverbed in the Sinai Peninsula and others as the Nile.

Huckabee responded, “It would be fine if they took it all.”

The Palestinian Authority also condemned Huckabee’s statements as “supporting ethnic cleansing,” describing his remarks as “provocative and unacceptable.” It said the comments “constitute a direct call to violate state sovereignty and provide backing for the ongoing occupation, ethnic cleansing, displacement, and expansionist plans targeting the Palestinian people.”

Jordan’s Foreign Ministry also slammed Huckabee’s statements, saying they “constitute a violation of diplomatic norms, an assault on the sovereignty of the countries of the region, and a flagrant breach of international law and the Charter of the United Nations.”

The ministry added that the remarks contradict the declared position of US President Donald Trump, rejecting the annexation of the occupied West Bank.

The League of Arab States also condemned Huckabee’s comments.

Ahmed Aboul Gheit, the league’s Secretary-General, described the ambassador’s comments as “highly extremist statements” and “contrary to logic and reason,” and “inconsistent with the fundamental principles and established norms of diplomacy.”

The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) also slammed the ambassador’s remarks as “unacceptable.”
