El sisi : I appreciate Trump’s “valued effort” for peace and stability

Trump offers to restart mediation between Egypt and Ethiopia on Nile River water sharing

Egyptian president Abdel Fattah Elsisi voiced his appreciation concerning the letter sent from President Donald Trump , saying that he appreciates his valued efforts to consolidate the foundations of peace and stability at the regional and international levels.

El sisi also praised the appreciation Trump’s letter conveyed for Egypt’s pivotal role in supporting security and stability in the region.

“I also value President Trump’s attention to the central importance of the Nile River issue for Egypt, as it represents the lifeline of the Egyptian people.” El sisi said .

“ Egypt has affirmed its commitment to serious and constructive cooperation with the Nile Basin countries, based on the principles of international law, in a manner that achieves shared interests without causing harm to any party” he asserted 

These are the constants upon which the Egyptian position is founded, El sisi emphasized .

In this context, I have addressed a letter to President Trump conveying my thanks and appreciation, El sisi added , reaffirming in the letter what he called Egypt’s position and related concerns regarding Egyptian water security, underscoring Egypt’s support for his efforts.

El sisi highlighted his aspiration to continue working closely with Trump during the coming phase.
