reaffirms Egypt-Uganda fraternal ties, El-Sisi congratulates Museveni on re-election  

President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi extended his congratulations to Ugandan President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni on the occasion of his re-election for a new presidential term, praising the confidence of the Ugandan people in his leadership.

El-Sisi expressed his best wishes for Museveni’s success and for the continued progress and prosperity of the sisterly Republic of Uganda.

The Egyptian president also reaffirmed Egypt’s commitment to strengthening the fraternal ties of cooperation between Cairo and Kampala. He stressed the importance of working together for the prosperity of both nations and for stability and development across Africa.

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni secured another term in office after the country’s electoral commission declared him the winner of Uganda’s presidential election, which was held on 15 January 2026.
