Zambia Launches Nationwide Digital Skills Drive via Ndola Training Hub

The SMART Zambia Institute has officially inaugurated its “Digital Skills Training of Trainers” programme at the Zambia University College of Technology.

 The initiative marks a significant step in the government’s strategy to accelerate digital inclusion by creating a high-level tier of 80 expert ICT trainers.

These specialists are tasked with cascading digital literacy across the public sector and local communities, focusing on critical domains including cybersecurity, digital finance, and device management.

The Electronic Government (e-Gov)  also known as the Smart Zambia Institute is a Division in the Office of the President which is charged with the responsibility of the management and promotion of electronic Government services and processes; facilitate access to electronic Government services to improve service delivery to enhance citizens access to Government services, coordination of e-government and information and communication technology matters in public bodies.

the  new initiative  aims to strengthen digital inclusion nationwide by equipping ICT trainers with essential skills in digital literacy, cybersecurity, device management, and digital finance.

he programme will train 80 ICT trainers, who will in turn help enhance digital capacity across Zambia’s public sector and broader communities.

 By building a pool of skilled digital trainers, SMART Zambia seeks to improve public service delivery, foster innovation, and accelerate the adoption of digital tools and technologies across the country.
