Egypt Closely Monitors Developments in Yemen .. Commends Constructive Approach by Saudi Arabia and UAE

Egypt is closely following the latest developments on the Yemeni front through intensive, high-level, round-the-clock communications with all concerned parties.

In a statement issued by the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Cairo affirmed its full confidence in the commitment of its brothers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates to act wisely regarding the current developments in Yemen. This comes within the framework of upholding the values of brotherhood between the two sister countries and preserving unity of purpose and the shared Arab destiny during this delicate stage Yemen and the region are going through.

Egypt also expressed its deep appreciation for the wisdom of the Saudi and UAE leaderships in their constructive handling of the evolving situation in Yemen, emphasizing their keenness to achieve stability in Yemen while safeguarding its sovereignty and the interests of its fraternal people.

The statement affirmed that Egypt will spare no effort in continuing its ongoing communications with its brothers in Saudi Arabia and the UAE, as well as with the Yemeni side and other relevant regional and international parties, aiming to reduce escalation. These efforts are intended to pave the way toward a comprehensive political settlement in Yemen that fulfills the legitimate aspirations of the Yemeni people for a secure and prosperous future, while supporting security and stability across the region.
