A phone conversation was conducted between Dr. Badr Abdelatty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Egyptian Expatriates, and Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates. The call came within the framework of periodic consultation and ongoing coordination between the two countries regarding issues of mutual interest.
The conversation reviewed the strong bilateral relations between the two countries. The two ministers praised the profound fraternal ties between the leaderships and peoples of both countries. They agreed on the importance of continuing joint efforts to strengthen partnership frameworks across various fields, and to build on the current momentum to further advance relations in a way that serves the interests of both brotherly peoples.
The discussion also covered developments in the Gaza Strip. The two ministers emphasized the need to expedite the implementation of the second phase obligations of the U.S. President’s plan and to provide full support to the National Committee for Administration of Gaza.
The two ministers reiterated the importance of deploying an international stabilization force to ensure adherence to the ceasefire, as a necessary step to pave the way for early recovery and reconstruction efforts. They underscored the significance of the continued flow of humanitarian aid to all areas of the Strip.
Regarding the Sudanese crisis, Minister Abdelatty reaffirmed Egypt’s firm position in support of Sudan’s unity, territorial integrity, and the cohesion of its national institutions, as well as the need to intensify efforts to improve the humanitarian situation and support de-escalation efforts. The two ministers concurred to continue close coordination to address increasing challenges in a manner that preserves regional stability.
On the broader regional front, the two ministers exchanged views on ways of de-escalation in the region and reiterated that diplomatic solutions are the only path to prevent the region from sliding into further instability.
