President El-Sisi congratulates Egypt handball team on 10th African championship victory

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi congratulated on Saturday the Egyptian National Handball Team on winning the 2026 African Men’s Handball Championship, for the fourth consecutive edition and the 10th overall.
“I congratulate Egypt’s national handball team on their great achievement in winning the African Men’s Handball Championship for the tenth time and for the fourth consecutive time,” President El-Sisi wrote on his official Facebook page.
The president called the victory an accomplishment that reflects a spirit of determination and persistence and confirms Egypt’s status among the giants of the sport regionally and globally.
“Your success is a source of great pride, and I ask Allah the Almighty to grant more victories and achievements for Egyptian sport, bringing glory to our great people,” El-Sisi added.
Earlier on Saturday, the Egyptian National Handball Team won the continental title by defeating Tunisia in a match held in the Rwandan capital of Kigali, drawing level with Tunisia as the competition’s most successful nation.
