The strong performance reflects the bank’s robust financial position and balanced strategy of supporting the Egyptian national economy through financing major projects across various productive and service sectors, while responding to the diverse financing needs of major corporate clients.
NBE Expands Financing for Strategic Economic Sectors

Mohamed El-Etreby, Chief Executive Officer of the National Bank of Egypt, emphasized the bank’s continued commitment to providing the financing required for major projects that create added value for the economy, accelerate development, and support the state’s plans to advance a wide range of economic sectors.
El-Etreby explained that the bank’s financing activities cover strategic sectors including transportation, healthcare and education, telecommunications and information technology, petrochemicals, non-bank financial services, environmental services, waste management and recycling, real estate development, building materials, food industries, petroleum, agriculture, and tourism.
According to El-Etreby, financing projects in these sectors contributes positively to Egypt’s sustainable economic development, supports the localization of industry, and creates additional employment opportunities for Egyptian youth.
He added that such financing also contributes to reducing imports and increasing export rates, which in turn helps improve Egypt’s trade balance and maximize the country’s foreign currency resources.
