“NBE Points”.. National Bank of Egypt Launches New Customer Loyalty and Rewards App

The National Bank of Egypt (NBE) has announced the launch of a new integrated customer loyalty and rewards application, “NBE Points,” aimed at enhancing customers’ digital experience and providing them with multiple instant benefits through their mobile phones, without the need for any additional procedures or contacting customer service.
The launch comes as part of NBE’s strategy to support digital transformation, embrace innovation, and deliver a distinctive customer experience.
Soha El-Torky, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the National Bank of Egypt, said that the launch of the new NBE Points application represents a qualitative step in the development of the bank’s loyalty and rewards services, reflecting NBE’s ongoing commitment to providing innovative solutions that contribute to enhancing customers’ experience.
She emphasized that, through the application, the bank’s specialized teams seek to make it easier for customers to benefit from their accumulated points and rewards, while providing greater opportunities to instantly access the various benefits offered by the bank through mobile phones, in line with the latest global digital trends.
Karim Sous, Chief Executive Officer of Retail Banking at the National Bank of Egypt, affirmed that the launch of the application underscores NBE’s commitment to strengthening its partnerships with merchants to ensure the provision of exclusive offers and tangible benefits to customers. This, he said, enhances the loyalty experience and establishes a new benchmark in digital banking services.
He noted that digital innovation is not limited to introducing new services, but also involves improving the way customers interact with the bank’s services and products and enabling them to access services and benefits in a seamless and direct manner. He further confirmed that the application will continue to expand its features and services during the coming period in response to customer preferences and market developments.
For her part, Hala Helmy, Head of Products and Financial Inclusion Group at the National Bank of Egypt, explained that the NBE Points application enables customers to view their accumulated points balance across all products included in the program. These points may be earned through card purchases — including credit, debit and prepaid cards — whether inside or outside Egypt, as well as welcome points granted to customers upon joining certain customer segments.
The application also allows customers to view points earned through certain of the bank’s digital services, including Al Ahly Net, Al Ahly Mobile and Al Ahly Phone Cash. Customers can redeem their points instantly and seamlessly through a modern user interface that provides a new level of convenience, flexibility and transparency.
The application also provides a detailed summary of points according to each product enrolled in the program, along with a clear indication of the status of each point — active, pending or canceled. Customers can also access a detailed statement of their points transactions for up to the previous six months.
In addition, the application introduces Shop4Cash, a new redemption option that allows customers to select one of their purchase transactions made within the previous 30 days and have the value of that transaction credited back to the same card, either in full or in part, depending on the available points balance.
The application also offers Pay with Points, which enables customers to pay directly with their points at participating merchants as an alternative to electronic vouchers. This eliminates restrictions associated with voucher categories and validity periods.
Customers can make either full or partial payments using points by providing their identification details in the case of individuals, or their Customer Information File (CIF) number in the case of corporate customers. A One-Time Password (OTP) is then sent to complete the transaction.
The application also enables customers to redeem their points for cash rewards, as well as exchange points for fixed-value amounts that can be credited to any of the customer’s valid credit cards denominated in the local currency, through either the application or the program’s website.
