CAF Probes Misconduct in AFCON Morocco 2025 Final

The Confédération Africaine de Football (CAF) has issued a strong condemnation of the unacceptable behavior displayed by some players and officials during the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Morocco 2025 final, which took place on Sunday night in Rabat between hosts Morocco and Senegal.

In an official statement released on Monday, CAF stressed that it firmly rejects any form of inappropriate conduct during its competitions, particularly actions directed at the refereeing team or match organizers. The governing body emphasized that respect for match officials and tournament regulations is a fundamental principle that must be upheld at all times, especially during high-profile fixtures such as the AFCON final.

CAF confirmed that it is currently reviewing all available video footage related to the incidents that occurred during the match. The organization added that the matter will be referred to the relevant judicial and disciplinary bodies, which will take appropriate action against any individuals found to have violated CAF’s codes of conduct and competition regulations.

The TotalEnergies AFCON Morocco 2025 final attracted widespread attention across the continent and beyond, and CAF reiterated its commitment to preserving the integrity, professionalism, and values of African football. The Confederation concluded by reaffirming that any behavior undermining the spirit of fair play will be dealt with decisively in accordance with established disciplinary procedures.
