Russia Accuses Zelensky of Lying and Confirms Foiling Terrorist Attack on Putin in Novgorod

The spokesperson for the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Maria Zakharova, described Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s statements about Russia’s unwillingness to negotiate as “false.” Zakharova stated, in remarks reported by the Russian news agency Sputnik on Monday, that Zelensky’s comments regarding the city of Bucha, as well as claims about children allegedly “kidnapped” by Russia, are untrue.

She added that the words of Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov reflect the truth and that the Kyiv regime will be held accountable for these alleged crimes.

Zakharova also pointed to media reports indicating that the Ukrainian president attempted to evade responsibility for a terrorist attack targeting the residence of Russian President Vladimir Putin in the Novgorod region.

Earlier today, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov announced that a terrorist attack carried out by Ukraine using 91 long-range drones on Putin’s residence in Novgorod had been foiled. Lavrov confirmed that Russian air defense systems destroyed all the attacking drones, and that no human casualties or material damage occurred due to falling debris.
