BADEA President Discusses Strengthening Development Partnership in Africa with UN Resident Coordinator

Abdullah Al-Musaibeeh, President of the Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa (BADEA), received Mohamed El Zarkani, United Nations Resident Coordinator in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and his accompanying delegation. The two sides discussed ways to strengthen their development partnership and expand cooperation in support of African countries’ development priorities.
The meeting reviewed a range of issues related to economic and social development across the continent, as well as opportunities for closer coordination in financing and implementing projects with sustainable impact, particularly in infrastructure, economic growth, and improving quality of life in beneficiary communities.
H.E. the President of BADEA affirmed that partnerships with the United Nations system and international institutions are a cornerstone of development work, stressing that joining efforts and sharing expertise and knowledge enhance the effectiveness of development interventions and maximize their impact on the ground.
For his part, the UN Resident Coordinator commended the level of cooperation with BADEA and its role in supporting Africa’s development, underlining the importance of continued dialogue, exchange of perspectives, and practical partnerships that help accelerate progress toward the Sustainable Development Goals across the continent.
The meeting forms part of BADEA’s strategy to expand its partnerships with regional and international institutions and strengthen its financing role in advancing inclusive and sustainable development in African countries, in line with the aspirations of their people for a more prosperous future.
