Commercial International Bank – Egypt (CIB) Signs Anchor Investment Agreement in Proposed MNT-Halan Offering with Investment of up to EGP 2 Billion

Commercial International Bank – Egypt (CIB) announced that it entered into an anchor investment agreement on September 24, 2026, with MNT Tech Holding for Financial Investments S.A.E., known as “MNT-Halan,” and MNT Investments B.V. Under the agreement, CIB has committed to purchasing shares as part of the international offering, which forms part of MNT-Halan’s proposed offering and listing of its shares on the Egyptian Exchange (EGX), with a total investment value of up to EGP 2 billion, in accordance with the terms and conditions set out in the anchor investment agreement, as described in the offering documents published by MNT-Halan.

The investment reflects CIB’s commitment to supporting leading Egyptian companies with strong growth potential, while continuing to strengthen its presence in Egypt’s financial services and capital markets sectors.

Amr El-Ganainy, Deputy CEO and Executive Board Member of Commercial International Bank – Egypt (CIB), expressed his pride in the pioneering role led by CIB in supporting the non-banking financial sector, describing it as one of the most important and prominent sources of financing in the Egyptian economy, alongside the banking sector, which represents the main source of strengthening the position of non-banking financial companies, whether through financing operations in their various forms or through direct investment in their capital.

He stressed the need to support the diversification of financing tools and mechanisms in the Egyptian market, particularly newer instruments based on financial technology and digital applications, foremost among them MNT-Halan, in light of the company’s strong performance in the recent period and confidence in the further expansion and achievements it is expected to deliver in the coming period, particularly following CIB’s participation through an investment in its capital as part of the proposed offering on the Egyptian Exchange.

Commenting on CIB’s participation, Mounir Nakhla, Founder, CEO and Managing Director of MNT-Halan, said: “I am extremely pleased that our partner, CIB, which has been part of our journey for many years, is now joining us as a shareholder in the company. CIB has exceptional knowledge of this market, and its insights and expertise will be of great value to us as we build the next chapter of MNT-Halan’s journey. Our relationship with CIB extends back more than 15 years; it believed in us from the very beginning, and its support for the non-banking financial services sector has played a role in the growth of the sector as a whole.”

MNT-Halan was founded by Mounir Nakhla, Founder and CEO, who was joined by Ahmed Mohsen in 2017 as Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer. MNT-Halan is one of Egypt’s leading technology-enabled non-banking financial services companies. Since its establishment in December 2009, the MNT-Halan Group has disbursed EGP 178 billion in financing and served approximately 7.9 million customers from inception through June 2026.

MNT-Halan combines its digital platform, represented by the “Halan” application, with an extensive physical network comprising more than 1,200 distribution points across 25 governorates in the Arab Republic of Egypt. This supports the provision of a wide range of financial services, including financing, payments, investments, e-commerce and other value-added financial services.
