Egyptian Ambassador in Addis Ababa Discusses Sudan Crisis with National Forces Coordination

Ambassador Dr. Obaida Al-Dandrawy, Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia and Permanent Representative to the African Union, received Mohamed Sayed Ahmed Sir Al-Khatim Al-Jakoumi, Chairman of the Sudanese National Forces Coordination, accompanied by Taj Al-Din Banja of the Popular Congress Party and Jalila Abdelrahman, representing the Women’s Bloc.
The meeting discussed the latest developments in Sudan and the regional and international efforts aimed at reaching a settlement to the Sudanese crisis, including the ongoing consultations within the framework of the Quintet Mechanism.
During the meeting, the Egyptian Ambassador reaffirmed the constants of Egypt’s position towards Sudan, namely support for the Sudanese state and its national institutions, preservation of Sudan’s unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity, and rejection of any parallel arrangements or measures that could undermine the country’s unity or threaten its stability.
He also stressed the importance of achieving a permanent ceasefire to end the suffering of the Sudanese people and create the conditions for an exclusively Sudanese-led political process. The meeting was also attended by First Secretary Manar Alshiekh of the Embassy of Egypt.
